Enjoying the Ride
I made it to QUILT CANADA in Calgary last weekend!
I went down on Thursday by bus and anyone from Alberta will probably ask, why? You see, we had quite the spring snowstorm here and the highway from Edmonton to Calgary was closed that morning. Not a problem for me though, I am a determined quilter and I wasn’t leaving until noon anyway. How bad could it be by then?
Kind of bad, actually. But really, it depends how you look at it. A few patches of highway had not yet been cleared, so a three-hour bus ride turned into a seven-hour trip with slow moving detours. Some might think of this as a major inconvenience, or perhaps even a nightmare, but these people just do not understand. I was on a bus with a bagful of books, my laptop, free wireless internet and no husband or kid to take care of! It could not have been a better ride. And the quilt show was good, too.
